Legal text and DAO credential are being separated

Preamble

The earlier page mixed two different things: a public licence for ResonantOS-related work, and the future Symbiotic Licence NFT. The current DAO design treats the NFT as an official, non-transferable credential that can only be issued to wallets with active Community membership.

Section 1: Definitions

  • Public Licence Text: The human-readable legal or cultural agreement. Its canonical wording and hash must be finalized before mainnet.
  • Symbiotic Licence NFT: The DAO-issued credential that records licence and co-ownership status for a member wallet.
  • Community Member: A wallet with an active official Community Member record.
  • Credential Originality: A licence credential is original only if the official Membership Program recorded it.
  • Transferability: The credential is soulbound and cannot be sold or manually transferred.

Section 2: Credential Rules

The on-chain licence credential should follow these rules:

  • Membership required: Only active Community Members can receive the Symbiotic Licence NFT.
  • One per wallet: Duplicate licence credentials are rejected for the same active member record.
  • Non-transferable: Licence status stays with the wallet that received it.

The licence NFT is a credential, not the full legal text. The canonical text and hash remain a mainnet requirement.

Section 3: Current Implementation Status

This page is intentionally not final legal text. The current implementation work is the DAO credential flow:

Issue Flow

The user reads the canonical licence text, signs its canonical hash, and the program verifies active Community Member status before issuing the licence credential.

DAO Record

The Membership Program records the licence mint in the wallet's official MemberRecord.

  • Originals are program-issued: Name, image, and metadata are not enough.
  • The record is the gate: Other contracts should verify the official record before granting licence-based rights.

Open Questions Before Mainnet

The DAO must finalize the canonical licence text, canonical hash, co-ownership scope, and any rights that depend on holding this credential.

  • Canonical hash: required for wallet signature verification.
  • Rights model: required before public claims of co-ownership are final.

Not a Transferable Asset

The Symbiotic Licence NFT is not designed to be traded. It is a membership-based credential tied to the wallet that received it.
